My Ideal Day in the Life

Ideal Day in the Life

I struggle a lot with is picturing myself having that dream life that I’ve always wanted. Like, yeah, I know what it vaguely looks like but I know nothing about specifics.

I haven’t sat down and pictured where I am, what I’m doing, how I’m doing it, and who I’m surrounding myself with.

I’m going to try and explain what my ideal day in the life is in this post today.

Let’s start with the morning.

I wake up next to the man I love (and who loves me) around 6 in the morning. I do that nice full body stretch before I get up and go make myself some coffee. I take my mug and my journal and sit outside on the porch swing that we have.

We live on a big plot of land. There’s no one around really. I can hear the birds chirping and feel the morning breeze while I look up, soaking in the sun’s rays.

I drink my coffee while I journal. My expectations for the day, what I’m grateful for and whatever has been weighing on my mind.

My boyfriend/husband comes outside with his own cup of coffee and joins me on the swing. We stay there, my back nestled against his front for a while. We talk about life, the future we’re working towards.

Then, around 8am, I have a quick breakfast and get ready to workout in a group class. Working out alone is great but I get bored and usually give up so I found a class about 15 minutes from my house that I go to a few times a week.

I’ll get home around 10am, shower and then sit down and start working for the day. I’ll work on my novel until around 1pm. I will get up and go make myself and my boyfriend/husband a lunch since he works from home. After that, I’ll get back to work until 4pm, working on my blog and/or podcast at this point and any admin tasks I need to complete.

My boyfriend/husband and I will go for a walk afterwards to get some more fresh air, before coming back home and cooking dinner together. By 6 in the evening, we are fed and the dishes and kitchen are clean. My husband goes and does whatever he enjoys to do and I’ll practice whatever hobby I’ve picked up at that point in time.

By 8pm, I’m in bed with my pajamas on and I’m snuggled in bed with my green tea with lemon on my nightstand and the current book that I’m obsessed with in my hands.

That’s my ‘ideal day in the life.’ This will be my future and I’m glad that I now have this post to come back to when I need reminding of this future that I want so dearly.
