I don’t think I could advocate enough for planners. There’s so much I could say about planners. What I will say is that they make college so much easier.
I’ve had an obsession with planners since I started high school. I have yet to find the perfect planner for myself, but that doesn’t stop me from continually searching and buying.
It just keeps everything so organized, from assignments to meetings and exams. There’s an endless variety of them. You can choose from academic planners or personal goals. And you can go from full, monthly calendars, or day-to-day ones that have two pages dedicated to a single day.
I have a hard time choosing between planners. I typically start the school year with one and halfway through I but another one.
If you’re like me and have clubs you participate in and have work, I suggest the hourly planners. That way, you can see when you have openings for homework and free time to decompress from a busy schedule.
Prices vary, so the more details and features want, the more it’s going to cost. It’s all uphill to you.
This $16.95 planner isn’t the exact one I use, but this is basically the same style. It’s not expensive, and I’m able to block out the times when I have meetings and when I go to work. There’s also a section where I can write down the specific assignments that I need to work on that day. Having every detailed laid out on the page reduces my stress, especially during midterms and finals time.
There’s others that only contain a monthly view, like the one below, if that better suits you.
This one is $7.95 on Amazon, so it’s not expensive. Again, this is if you’re considering it. I’m sure there are people out there who have a brain that can remember everything. How I wish I were one of them :).
