Here Are the Eight Books I Read in June 2022

books

These are the 8 books I read in June. It’s mainly two series, neither one I have yet to finish, and an audiobook. This felt like a slow month but I think it’s because I read in the beginning and the end of the month. Don’t ask me about the middle because I don’t remember quite much.

Headstrong Like Us by Kristie & Becca Ritchie

This is the final book of Maximoff and Farrow’s relationship. It was fantastic and a perfect way to end their group of books. It was a little too long for me. I personally don’t think they needed a fourth book. It could have been condensed to a novella.

Charming Like Us by Kristie & Becca Ritchie

This was a sweet yet addicting novel. Oscar and Jack were a cute story about coming out and finding out your sexuality even later on in life. The pacing was seamless and I enjoyed the first real glimpse into Charlie Cobalt.

Wild Like Us by Kristie & Becca Ritchie

This is the first book between Sullivan, Thatcher, and Akara. Wild Like Us is the first MMF book that I’ve ever read. I don’t know if it was because I built it up in my head or what. It was a solid 3 out of 5 stars but there was just something missing. The plot was there but I think it was the dynamic maybe. I also don’t identify much with Sully so that also has a huge

Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark

I finally gave in and read Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark. This book did not disappoint. It took me a second to get into the book. Like all new series, you have to push through the first few chapters. I was hooked from chapter three. The plot was fast-paced, which is expected in a Dark/Mafia Romance. You’re dumped into the world, figuring it out along the way. I will say that Aida did seem a bit bratty to me but it didn’t put me off where I had to put the book down to control my anger towards her, so that’s a plus.

Stolen Heir by Sophie Lark

Stolen Heir by Sophie Lark is the second installment in the Birthright series. I was hesitant about this book seeing as it’s not one of the men from the group but the enemy. However, I’m extremely glad that I was wrong. It was really great. I love a guy who just can’t help himself but fall in love. Miko really was a unique character but I don’t think he could have logically survived with all of his injuries but you know it’s fiction so who cares.

Savage Lover by Sophie Lark

Savage Lover, on the other hand, I was HIGHLY anticipating. Nero is the perfect greaser head (if that makes sense). The cool, broods man. This third book in the Birthright series did not disappoint either. Nero’s attraction toward Camille was *chef’s kiss*. I did have one complaint though. I love bully romances so when I saw this advertised as one, I was ecstatic. It is definitely NOT a bully romance. Nero makes one snide comment I believe and that’s it. He’s hooked the rest of the time.

Bloody Heart by Sophie Lark

The cover for Bloody Heart by Sophie Lark put me on guard. There are a range of ages for these men but the man on the cover of this book seem severely older. I was worried all I would imagine was a man in his late thirties or early forties as Dante. I loved his book so much. Him and Simone are probably my favorite couple so far (I haven’t finished the series yet). I’ve never really been into second-chance romances but this one was top-tier. It was fantastic.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

I talked to my best friend about this book after I finished it. We decided that Book Lovers by Emily Henry needed to be marketed as Women’s Fiction. I really enjoyed this book but the romance between Nora and Charlie felt like a subplot whereas Nora and her sister, Libby’s, relationship was upfront and the main attraction.
