Honey chicken bites are SO good. I ate honey garlic chicken at a food court and it inspired me to create my own version. I went by blind faith one day while I was making dinner for my parents and me, hoping it would at least taste decent. The dish tasted surprisingly well.
My version didn’t taste like the food court’s (obviously) but at least I know what I put into my meal so I do feel better about it.
All you need is:
- One (1) boneless chicken breast
- One (1) tablespoon of honey
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- One (1) tablespoon of minced garlic (extra if you want a stronger taste)
Make sure to thaw your chicken during the day in the refrigerator. (This might sound obvious but I still forget some days). You cut the chicken breast into three thin slices, cutting off any fat and other stuff that might appear questionable.
Cut up all the chicken into bite-sized pieces and place them into a small. Next thing to do is toss in 1/4 cup of honey, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic into the bowl.
Mixing the contents into the bowl, put a pan on the stove and heat it to a medium-high. Pour everything from the bowl into the pan. Once the chicken is starting to cook, pour another 1/4 cup of honey every 5 – 7 minutes.
This recipe has three servings so it’s a great meal prep. Read here for Why You Need to Be Meal Prepping. I just paired it with some pasta and frozen veggies.
