Books I’m Hoping to Reading In July (Cross My Fingers)

I’ve mentioned in my previous post that I’ve been in a slump in so many areas of my life lately. Reading has definitely taken a hit for two reasons. One, I was not mentally ready to dive into a book with new characters when I had adult things to do in my life, I wouldn’t have been able to truly enjoy any books. Two, I think I would have felt the urge to buy books and since I didn’t have a job then, that wasn’t possible.

Thankfully, I finally finished a book for the first time in almost two weeks. The books was Penelope Douglass’ Punk 57, extremely good and I highly recommend. Might do a review on it. I’ve always been hesitant about posting reviews on spicier/smuttier novels. Probably because I don’t want to be judged based on that but that’s just an excuse. Truth is, if you know me, you know I love romance, the more descriptive the better lol.

In July, I’m hoping to start sharing all the books that I read, from all genres.

Atomic Habits by James Clear

I bought this book in June of 2020. Yeah, you read that right, 2020! I can’t believe I’ve had Atomic Habits for this long and not read it yet. I’ll probably read this alongside with a fiction novel. I can’t devote hours at a time for nonfiction/self help books so I usually read them side-by-side with another novel.

Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle

I’ve been slowing reading Twice Shy for a little over a week now. I want to finish it by the end of next week at the latest. It’s a good book so hopefully with my newfound drive to read, I’ll be able to finish it quickly.

Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy

Did I buy all of Thomas Hardy’s books because of Fifty Shades of Grey? Yes, that is correct. The summary is interesting but I had never heard of Thomas Hardy until I watched the movie. I’m looking forward to reading another classic. I hope I like his writing because I have two of his other books that I’ll eventually read.

Devil’s Night Series by Penelope Douglass

And lastly, I really want to get into this series. I have read Corrupt, which is the first book of the series, already and it was **REALLY** good on the spice. I’m curious as to how it goes about it for the rest of the characters.
