All the Books I Read in January

Hello hello! There’s this part of me that feels like I need to come up with a steady intro as if I have a Youtube channel. Weird but any way, welcome back to another blog post!

In this post, I will be discussing all the books I read, or reread, in January. I feel like it was a pretty month in terms of reading so let’s dig right in.

Pretty Reckless by LJ Shen

Pretty Reckless is the first books in the All Saints High series. This was a reread as you’ll see with my next read. I found out that the fourth and final book of this series is coming out in February so I absolutely had to reread most of them so I could bring myself back in to their world. This book was childhood crushes-to-enemies-to-lovers (it’s complicated), forced proximity, and forbidden romance. I’m surprised that I didn’t remember that much even though I had read it. Not that I’m complaining because now it feels like I read a new book again.

Angry God by LJ Shen

Angry God was also a reread and it still doesn’t disappoint. It’s the third book in the All Saints High series. It’s enemies-to-lovers. Its boy falls harder but hates it. The tension between these two characters is insane. I loved every second of it.

Those Three little Words by Meghan Quinn

Those Three Little Words is the second book in the Vancouver Agitators series. I had read the first and third one before so I figured I should just finish the books that are out. I had started reading this book a few months ago. When I say started, I literally mean 10 pages and then I put it down. I just wasn’t in the mood for it. I’m so glad that I tried it again because this book was so good. Those Three Little Words was a one night stand, pregnancy trope, hockey romance. It did feel a little long and I felt like the issues that both characters dealt with were stretched out past their use.

He’s Not My Type by Meghan Quinn

He’s Not My Type is the fourth book in the Vancouver Agitators series. This book was a hit!! Halsey is a bookworm and he has my heart. He’s Not My Type has unrequited love (in the beginning), boy falls first and HARD, and friends-to-lovers.

The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson

The Fake Mate was such a great read! I had never read a ‘traditionally’ published book based on werewolves and mates like this. It was amazing! I loved Noah, and his personality, which was comical at times. You could tell how much he cared for Mackenzie and how he wasn’t sure how to act around her. I feel like there is a little Mackenzie in all of us from her sarcastic personality to sexual innuendos. Lana Ferguson is an expert at creating those conversations seamlessly.

Cruel King by Rina Kent

I love dark romances and Cruel King did not disappoint. This was a bully romance and I mean heavy bullying. Cruel King was a page turner, I couldn’t put it down. Levi was aggressive, possessive but also caring and attentive. I didn’t anticipate the plot twist at the end which made it even better. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Damaged Goods by LJ Shen

I anticipated this book so much when I realized a few weeks ago that it was coming out. I reread Pretty Reckless and Angry God for this read right here. This book was amazing. Definitely trigger warnings with addiction, depression, and suicidal ideation. Damaged Goods was so beautifully written and closed out the series in such an amazing way that I was left content with how everyone ended.

January was a solid start to a great year. I have a bunch of books marked on my calendar and Goodreads for releases that I’m excited for.
