5 Books that I Bought..or Did They Buy Me?

So I bought books…or did the books buy me?

You know how the story goes––you don’t mean to buy books when you walk into a Barnes & Noble. You just want to look at all the pretty covers and see what they have in stock.

Well mine was similar. I walked in, intending to only buy ONE book. Was that what happened? Absolutely not. I ended up with a stack of five. My parents had very chivalrously offered to take me that day.

I walked up to my mom with the stack of books on my arm. The first words out of my mouth were “look at my face, not at what’s in my arms.” Of course my mother proceeded to look at what I was holding. She just smiled and shook her head.

The thing is, my mom can’t really get mad at me when it comes to my love for books. I got it from her, proudly. I grew up watching her read and slowly went down that same road.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand.

I bought five books with a wide array of “why’s.”

Beach Read by Emily Henry

I have actually already read Beach Read. About a year, year and a half ago. It’s was my roommate/best friends book. I loved the book so much I had been wanting to own my own copy. I don’t know why I hadn’t bought it yet but alas it was specifically calling to me that day and I bought it.

The Roommate by Rosie Danan

If you don’t know about this book, all you need to know is that the male main character is supposedly a pornstar. Enough said. I saw it and immediately picked it up. I’m just so curious how the author uses that part of his storyline/history with the female main character.

Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert

This is the third book in Robert’s series surrounding mythology and well, I read the first two books so I had to buy the third one. It’ going to by the story of Patroclus, Achilles, AND Helen. I’m VERY excited how this turns out.

Love Her or Lose Her by Tessa Bailey

The first novel I read of Tessa Bailey’s was Fix Her Up, which is the first installment of this series, prior to this one. I was so intrigued by the two main characters while reading the previous book so I’m eager to see if they end up together or not (obviously they will but it’s nice to enjoy the ride while I’m on it).

The Dead Romantics by Ashely Poston

This book was on it’s own little island, stacked. The cover drew me in and I came over. I read the synopsis on the background and, I will admit, I wasn’t completely sucked in and wanted to buy it. There was something about it, however, that called my attention. The mystery in it was just enough enthralling to me that I wanted to read it. So I will definitely let you know how it goes.

Oh I forgot, the following weekend I went to another Barnes & Noble and bought Lore Olympus Vol. 2 by Rachel Smythe. It came out during the week and I completely forgot so I had to go again the following weekend.

Well, it was actually six books I bought. Whoops!

Until next time book babes.
